K’ukulk’an
Description
K’ukulk’an, a feathered serpent, a god in the Mayan culture associated with death and resurrection, was seen to possess enormous powers over the earthly realm.
There are other pieces in Mestizaje that also depict feathered serpents; this owes to the observation that the main civilizations that comprised Mesoamerica shared a common veneration of a creature with that form and a general confluence of attributes.
